Our outreach team connects with local communities on the issues that matter most, such as clean air, clean drinking water, public health, and sustainable communities for future generations. The success of our work as a statewide environmental advocacy organization depends on our ability to engage citizens in local communities. Our outreach team is on the ground, building public awareness and engaging our citizens to take action.
Citizen Advocacy PennFuture engages the public on advocacy around key policy issues. We also hold policymakers accountable for their decisions on energy, environmental protection and public health issues.
Working with local communities and partner organizations across the state, PennFuture holds community events and organizes programs to build awareness about critical issues.
PennFuture's Civic Engagement program runs statewide, non-partisan voter registration and participation programs designed to engage all citizens in our work, especially members of the “new American majority” (non-white voters, women, and younger voters).
PennFuture works with the national League of Conservation Voters Education Fund to determine a target universe of voters to mobilize, and with the Analyst Institute to hone our program to test the efficacy of our strategies and messages. In recent years, our programs have been the largest engagement efforts in Pennsylvania, reaching hundreds of thousands of citizens.
We empower citizens and local governments by promoting the use of energy efficient practices and clean energy solutions through toolkits and resources. Where possible we provide technical support and assistance.
