In response to the passage of Senate Bill 790, PennFuture released the following statement:
"Despite a pandemic that worsens by the day, the state Senate on Tuesday showed that it's more concerned with handing out gifts to polluters than taking measures to keep us safe from COVD-19," said PennFuture President and CEO Jacquelyn Bonomo. "Senate Bill 790 loosens environmental regulations currently governing the conventional oil and gas industry at a time when we need more stringent rules to protect public health. We call on Gov. Tom Wolf to veto this misguided legislation and to protect Pennsylvania's air and water by rejecting Senate Bill 790."
