PennFuture & CVPA denounce Bresnahan move to sell out Pennsylvanians’ health to advance Trump’s extreme fossil fuel agenda

It is disappointing that Rep. Bresnahan is prioritizing Donald Trump’s destructive and extreme fossil fuel agenda over the health and economic stability of his own constituents. Despite signing multiple letters claiming he supports clean energy investments that would lower Pennsylvanians’ bills, his recent actions have demonstrated that he is willing to sell out his constituents to further enrich billionaire oil and gas executives.

Embracing Pennsylvania’s clean energy future will lower costs for working families during this era of soaring utility costs, while creating good paying union jobs. Clean energy is not just an environmental issue — it’s an economic lifeline that ensures our children and seniors breathe clean air. Bresnahan’s decision to support Trump’s rollback of air quality standards won’t help Pennsylvania meet its growing energy demand. Pennsylvanians will suffer from increased pollution while paying higher costs just to keep the lights on. 

We urgently call on Congressman Bresnahan to rethink his position and realign with the interests of his constituents. He needs to follow through on his stated commitment to investing in renewable energy sources, like wind and solar, that will power the Northeastern Pennsylvania economy into the 21st century while delivering lower energy rates and cleaner air for our communities.
