With unprecedented heat waves and intense flash flooding we’ve been experiencing, the worst impacts of climate change are already here. But while the challenges are very real, there is also a genuine opportunity to rebuild Pennsylvania’s energy infrastructure to make it more sustainable, resilient, cleaner, and equitable.
That's because Pennsylvania is on the verge of joining the Regional Greenhouse Gas Initiative (RGGI), the most ambitious step the Commonwealth has ever taken to reduce greenhouse gas pollution and fight climate change.
To learn more, please join PennFuture and Conservation Voters of PA on July 28 at 7 p.m. for a webinar with State Senator Carolyn Comitta, who will talk about her RGGI Reinvestment Act and how it will accelerate renewable energy production, help low-income families deal with energy prices, and ensure a just transition away from a fossil fuel economy to a clean energy economy.

RGGI effectively reduces greenhouse gas emissions by implementing a fee on polluting electricity generation. An extremely important component of RGGI will be determining how this money will be spent, which is where the RGGI Reinvestment Act comes in.
We’re excited to see you on July 28 to learn about this exciting climate solution and learn how you can get involved to help ensure it becomes a reality.
