The Senate has not yet passed the Build Back Better Act, but our fight for this overwhelmingly popular federal action to combat climate change is far from over. President Biden and leaders in Congress have heard the calls from millions of Americans and have made clear that failure is NOT an option, and that we cannot wait any longer for real climate action, good-paying green jobs, and environmental justice.
But to keep our leaders focused on quickly getting this transformational bill to the President’s desk, we need to keep pressure on the Senate by continuing to raise our voices.
To learn more about why we can’t pass up this critical opportunity to act on climate, join Conservation Voters of PA and PennFuture on Thursday, January 13 at 5:00 pm for a virtual conversation on climate science and Build Back Better with distinguished professor of atmospheric science at Penn State, Dr. Michael Mann, and CVPA Federal Campaign Manager Kai Mateo. Dr. Mann is an expert on climate change and has had more than 200 pieces published.
In 2021 we experienced a year full of climate disasters. Whole communities were destroyed by climate fueled hurricanes, fires, floods, and extreme heat. The cost of delaying action is clear to those families who lost their homes and loved ones. This is our last best chance to do something about climate change. We cannot let this opportunity slip away.
Once passed, the Build Back Better Act will be the strongest action the United States has ever taken to combat the climate crisis.
Please Note: only attendees who sign up will be able to ask questions. In addition to being open to CVPA members, the event will be livestreamed on Facebook.
