PennFuture has a strong commitment to Internet privacy. You can visit most portions of pennfuture.org without telling us who you are and without revealing any personal information. The only information we collect from a normal website visit is the name of your Internet service provider, the browser and type of machine you are using, the website that referred you to us, the pages you request and the date and time you request them. We use this information to generate statistics and measure site activity to improve the usefulness of the PennFuture site to our visitors.
We collect an IP address from all visitors to our Site. An IP address is a number that is automatically assigned to your computer when you use the Internet. We use IP addresses to help diagnose problems with our server, administer our Site, analyze trends, track users' movement, gather broad demographic information for aggregate use in order for us to improve the site, and deliver customized, personalized content. IP addresses are not linked to personally identifiable information.
PennFuture may collect email addresses and other personally identifiable data about visitors when such data is voluntarily submitted to pennfuture.org. For example, our site uses information collection forms for visitors to request information, membership or to subscribe to our free on-line publications. Contact information from these sign-up forms is used to send information and data about PennFuture to our visitors. To become a member of PennFuture, we require registration of personal information. We use this information to make this function more effective and provide participants with additional information about PennFuture’s issues. PennFuture will never share or sell personal information for commercial purposes. All such information is collected and stored in a manner appropriate to the nature of the data. PennFuture makes every effort to insure the secure collection and transmission of sensitive user information using industry accepted data collection and encryption methodologies.
Citizens for Pennsylvania's Future (PennFuture) will not sell, trade, or share a donor's personal information with anyone else, nor send donor mailings on behalf of other organizations. PennFuture will only share personal information once a donor has given PennFuture specific permission to do so.
All information provided to PennFuture is transmitted using SSL (Secure Socket Layer) encryption. SSL is a proven coding system that lets your browser automatically encrypt, or scramble, data before you send it to us. We also protect account information by placing it on a secure portion of our Site that is only accessible by certain qualified employees of PennFuture. Unfortunately, however, no data transmission over the Internet is 100 percent secure. While we strive to protect your information, we cannot ensure or warrant the security of such information.
If a user elects to use our referral service for informing a friend about our site, we ask them for the friend's name and email address. PennFuture will automatically send the friend a one-time email inviting them to visit the Site. PennFuture stores this information for the sole purpose of sending this one-time email.
