PennFuture is a statewide public interest membership organization that works to create a just future where nature, communities and the economy thrive. We enforce environmental laws, advance effective solutions for the problems of pollution, sprawl and global warming; mobilize citizens; craft compelling communications; and provide excellent legal services and policy analysis. We are the watchdog for the environment in the state capitol and throughout Pennsylvania.
PennFuture is working on three key areas of problems caused by mining, including the campaign to stop property damage and water destruction from longwall mining, advocacy for fairness for coalfield communities and to stop the plan to strip mine the largest undeveloped green space in the city of Pittsburgh.
