Shopping for electricity isn't all that complicated.
You can choose an electricity supplier by price, by how the electricity is made, or both. In areas where rate caps have ended, particularly in Pittsburgh, there are many choices; customers are making the switch in large numbers. As other areas lose their rate caps, more customers will get more choices.

It's important to remember that no matter what you decide, your local utility will still be responsible for delivering electricity to you, for maintaining your service and for fixing any problems. Under the law, you can shop for actual electricity, but the costs of delivering that electricity are regulated.
