In late 2009 the National Wildlife Federation (NWF) selected PennFuture to be its official representative in Pennsylvania. The decision was based largely upon our strong leadership and advocacy to restore and protect wildlife and wildlife habitats, our work on climate change issues and our efforts to connect people with nature.

Protecting the mid-Atlantic region.


NWF has 47 state affiliates that are grouped into nine regions. These regional teams work together, and with partners, to protect their unique natural treasures.

Pennsylvania is within the NWF Chesapeake mid-Atlantic region, which works to restore and protect the Chesapeake Bay, the Appalachian forests, rivers, migratory paths of birds and shoreline and coastal bay habitats. The other affiliates within this region are Delaware, Maryland, Washington, D.C., Virginia, West Virginia and North Carolina.

 
 

A legacy of good work.

 
NWF was founded in 1936 and has grown into the United States' largest conservation organization with four million members and supporters. As an affiliate, PennFuture will participate in the election of the NWF board of directors and help set the organization's policy objectives.
