The Coalition for Philadelphia's Riverfronts (CPR) is dedicated to improving the quality of the city's riverfronts by establishing an urban, high quality, continuous, connected and publicly accessible greenway along the Schuylkill and Delaware rivers.

This trail system will create a network of green public spaces that will connect neighborhoods and bring residents and visitors to the riverfronts. It will be a beautiful cultural and environmental resource and will contribute to the health, vibrancy and economic development of our city.

A green necklace
A continuous public greenway will create a beautiful green necklace around the city that will:

greatly increase recreational opportunities available to residents in neighboring communities, some of whom currently have little access to green public space;
promote active transportation by providing a contiguous green transportation corridor that can connect residential neighborhoods to business corridors and transit stops;
build our economy by making Philadelphia more attractive to new development, skilled workers and new businesses, and by raising neighborhood property values; and
improve water quality by filtering out pollutants before they enter our waterways and take a step towards meeting federal stormwater management regulations.

The Delaware and Schuylkill rivers have always been the heart of Philadelphia. A greenway trail will help bring these treasures back to life while increasing public health, improving water quality, attracting new businesses and bettering our quality of life.
