Three Rivers Solar Source

Three Rivers Solar Source

Three Rivers Solar Source (3RSS) is a project of PennFuture supported by the Heinz Endowments.
Our objective is to increase the amount of solar energy produced in western Pennsylvania to 15 megawatts (MW) by 2015. We believe that the solar industry will bring more jobs and investment to the region, favorably impact air quality, diversify our power grid and move us toward energy independence.

We also serve as a resource and clearinghouse for those who want objective information on solar installations; municipalities in need of information on permitting and zoning and businesses who want to explore solar energy to improve infrastructure and cut costs.

Periodically, we convene the Solar Unified Network of Western Pennsylvania (SUNWPA). The group, comprised of businesses and stakeholders, is working to further the deployment of this clean-energy technology.
