PennFuture responds to Attorney General's criminal charges against Cabot Oil and Gas

Below is a statement from PennFuture President and CEO Jacquelyn Bonomo, regarding criminal charges filed against Cabot Oil and Gas:

“In the eleven years since Cabot’s fracking operations resulted in catastrophic impacts to the community in Dimock—which thankfully have been called into account as crimes by today’s action by the Attorney General—the company has relentlessly tried to divert the gaze of the public away from its despicable record,” said PennFuture President and CEO Jacquelyn Bonomo. “State and local leaders have been complicit in helping the fracking industry advance its untrustworthy agenda, which relies on subsidies paid by the same communities it pollutes with its operations. We thank the Attorney General for stepping up today to hold this company accountable for its crimes against Pennsylvanians. PennFuture steadfastly rejects the notion that this industry operates with the best interests of Pennsylvanians in mind, and we will continue to fight vigorously for a clean energy economy that doesn’t rely on fossil fuels for prosperity.”
